RUSS LEGAL provides legal services with the exceptions of ‘legal reserved activities’ as specified in Section 12 of the Legal Services Act 2007, which includes the exercise of a right of audience, the conduct of litigation, reserved instrument activities, probate activities, notarial activities and the administration of oaths. Although, our staff is made up of highly skilled and experienced professionals with law degree, as we do not provide the listed above reserved activities, our firm does not require registration with SRA.
However, if our client at some point requires such services, we are in very close cooperation with solicitors who are qualified to perform such 'reserved legal activities'. In this way we can also act on the basis of ‘agency’ for law firms in relation to a particular project or a client, while operating under the regulatory umbrella of the firm we have entered the agreement with.
In addition, we can also provide ‘agency’ based claims management services, under the Compensation Act 2006, while acting in the normal course of practice in a way permitted by professional rules to which the legal practitioner is subject. In relation to RUSS LEGAL, this would cover “agency” work for a law firm.
For the reason that claims management is not our primary business, our projects involve an element of claims management on the basis of ‘exempt introducer’ under the Compensation (Exemptions) Order 2007. In situations where such projects exceed the threshold for this exemption we act under proper agency contract as ‘Introducers acting as agents for a business’, while such agents are covered by the claims management business’s authorisation.
RUSS LAGAL keeps high quality professional standards ensuring our clients and partners receive excellent levels of services. Our staff has legal background of master's degree in Business Law and Legal Practice Course completed at University of Law in London.
